The coffee tour is real y'all! I cannot believe the incredible amount of java in the Portland area. There's as spot for everyone. I personally fell in love with "Portland Cafecito" - it was like my home away form home. I was able to meet up with other writers in this spot and talk about some amazing open mics and local bookstores in the area. I knew Portland was rainy, but I didn't know it would also be cold. Thankfully, the hostel I stayed at had a cute lost and found treasure chest of items that were over one year of waiting that I was able to dig through and pull out a fun scarf. Don't judge me, I'm a girl on a budget. But it was honestly one of the best things I could have done for myself as a writer. My grandma told me to do it, take the train and just go! Don't wait for permission. PathfinderUSA was really instrumental in making that possible. Because, WHERE DO I START! Well, thankfully I found a corner in this Portland part of the world that fit me like a glove and also helped push me out of my comfort zone. I can now say I am a poet who has traveled and shared work. So proud, so excited for more!
